Manual for Willy the Beer Varmit's War
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
                  1. Introduction From the Author

Hello, I am currently a sophomore computer science major at Texas Tech.
I've enjoyed playing games for several years so I decided that I would
start writing my own games. This is the second game that I have written.
The first game was a much smaller production of Willy the Beer Varmit
written in QuickBasic. This game was written in C and assembly with
an additional graphics library by Wordup Software. This shareware game
was designed as a parody on other war games. It uses weapons that one
might find located in bar instead of a weapon's shed.

    The game requires:
640k ram (at least 520k free)
                       VGA card
                       VGA monitor
Mouse (with at least two buttons)
                       286 Processor
             Supports:
                       Soundblaster
Soundblaster Pro, 16 - stereo sound
                       Gravis Ultrasound

I would appreciate any comments that you have on the game so I can
improve it for future versions and make it compatable with all machines.
As a college student I would appreciate your registration, which I would
use it to help pay for my education at Tech. When you register you will
receive the registered version which contains a full screen of additional
weapons. You will also also receive some new VGA backgrounds to make the
game even more exciting. Registration money should be sent by either cash
or cheque. All orders that come in while I'm at Tech will be processed by
my parents. Shareware is used as a try-before-you-buy type of marketing and
the author does not receive any money for the product until you register.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

                                  Help!!!!!

The game is setup where there is a title screen which is displayed
until the user presses a key. Then several game options are asked and
the weapons selection screen appears. When the weapons selection screen
appears you select the weapons my moving the mouse to their location on
the screen and pressing the right mouse button to add weapons of that
type and by pressing the left button to decrease the amount of the weapon
selected. During the game the items on the screen work in a similar fasion
to increase the aim or speed move to there respective locations on the
screen and press the right mouse button and to decrease press the left
mouse button. To select the weapon to use move the mouse to the bottom
right area of the screen and press either mouse button to cycle through
the weapons. Finally, move the mouse to bottom section of the screen
where the word "<fire>" appears and press the left mouse button to shoot
off your weapon at the desired aim and speed.

   Possible problems:

   1. The action in the game is slow or the graphic backgrounds or sound
   effects are not loaded.
This indicates that you probably do no have the memory necessary
to run the game. First, do not run the game under the Windows
environment, exit Windows completely and then start the game. If this
does not work, you may try by booting the system with a systems
disk with only the mouse driver and sound card driver included, or
you may run setup.exe and turn off Soundblaster effects. Also, if you
have a 286 processor the graphics will seem fairly slow.

   2. The game reports that a mouse is not found.
This game requires a Microsoft compatable mouse. If you don't
have mouse.com loaded beforehand this error will result.

   3. The sound effects are not present.
You must run the soundcard setup program (setup.exe) to configure
your soundcard before you start the game.

If you experience any other problems please contact me and I will try
to fix the errors.
