Grand Theft Auto

Before it became one of the biggest names in gaming, Grand Theft Auto started out here. The original GTA was released in 1997, developed by DMA Design and published by BMG Interactive, and it’s still a blast to play today.

The whole game takes place in Liberty City, shown from a top-down view looking straight down on the streets. The city is huge, with a big road network, lots of vehicles to choose from and people everywhere. You can roam around freely, steal any car that takes your fancy and take on missions. Points rack up in the corner as you cause chaos, but push your luck too far and the police will soon be on your tail, sirens and all.

This is the playable demo, so you can try the original Grand Theft Auto online for free in your browser with nothing to install, or download it and play offline. It’s available in English, French, German and Italian. Log in to keep your savegame in the cloud and carry on from any computer.
