Space Blaster

Space Blaster is a space shooter by John Wagner from 1992. Rows of aliens float over a colourful fractal landscape with a blue planet behind it, and you blast them with your radio-controlled ship.

Alien landing craft inch towards the surface. Destroy them all and you're rewarded with extra fuel. An unstoppable bomber drops hydrogen bombs that eat your energy if they reach the planet, so shoot them out of the sky. After each wave there's a bonus round where every bomb you hit adds to your fuel. And keep your ship away from the surface.

The author's face pops up between rounds, telling you to prepare to die. The registered version had eight different backdrops.
